Most efficient goalscorers
Overview of the most efficient goalscorers at Ajax, for each player who scored at least 10 goals the overview shows the number of matches, the number of minutes, the number of goals, the goals per match and the minutes per goal.
We have chosen to by default sort the table on the minutes per goal rather than the goals per match, which gave as an interesting outcome that not only known topscorers Ruud Geels and Marco van Basten, but also players with relatively less minutes per match like Benni McCarthy and Dmitri Bulykin reached the top of this list.
Who would have thought that Dmitri Bulykin is the most efficient goalscorer who played for Ajax (since 1956).
When we look at loaned out Danny Hoesen and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson we also notice that although Sigthorsson scores significant more goals per match, Hoesen is the more efficient goalscorer when it comes to minutes played per goal scored.
Siem de Jong can only be found lower on this list, but a fair comparison cannot be made based on these total numbers as Siem de Jong often played as a midfielder. Similarly Sigthorsson and a lot of other strikers in the list did not play all their games in the same position, so any comparison has limited value.
The highlighted rows contain players who are/were still under contract the current season.
