List of all matches with a large difference between the first and second half. To qualify for this list the difference should be atleast 6 goals. As an example, a 3-2 win after a 0-2 halfway score is 5 goals difference.
The largest difference by far is a competition match of the 1940-41 season. In an away game against VUC Ajax was look at a 6-0 score at halftime, but in the second half was able to get to a 6-6 draw, a 12 goal difference between first and second half.
To some extend the choice to take measurement at halftime is arbitrary. A historical match in which Ajax took a large lead but still lost does not appear in the list because of that choice. In the champions competition of season 1949-50 in the away match against SC Heerenveen (with Abe Lenstra) Ajax was able to take a 1-5 lead after 1-3 halftime score, only to see Heerenveen score 5 goals and win the game. The difference between the first and second half is only 5 goals (from an Ajax point of view +2 goal difference in the first half and -3 in the second half)
