Multifunctional Schöne is Top Scorer of Ajax
03/29/2014
Who would have thought, when a little less than two years ago it was announced that Schöne would come to Ajax, that this player would become top scorer of Ajax? Nobody. Few would have thought that he would play more than half of the matches, but he is on his way to also for his second season at Ajax play more than 40 matches. Just like the end of last season he is first choice for the rightforward position, en in case De Boer prefers a real rightwinger, it would not be too surprising if a position on the midfield is created for Schöne. Schöne is the first choice for penalties and free kick and has scored 12 goals so far this season. Siem de Jong's total of the previous two seasons (16 and 17) is within reach, but Kolbeinn Sigþórsson is with 11 goals also a candidate to become top scorer and now that Siem de Jong is injured will undoubtedly get plenty of playing time to increase his season total.
